Ms. Harris has been
employed with Jerry Turner and Associates, Inc. for seven years after
employment with other firms for eight years. After receiving her Masters
degree in Landscape Architecture in 1983 from N.C. State University,
she worked as a designer and project manager on numerous complex multi-million
dollar projects outside Washington, D.C. requiring a wide range of design
and technical expertise. The complexity of these projects required the
utilization of consultants ranging from soils scientists to civil and
structural engineers.
She has been involved
in regional and municipal projects from the Raleigh-Durham International
Airport in the Research Triangle Park, N.C., to the Alabama Shakespeare
Festival Theater in Montgomery, Alabama, an award winning development
of cultural buildings in a park-like setting and the Elizabeth II State
Historic Site at Manteo, N.C which included the master planning, site
design and detailing for the development of cultural buildings and associated
landscape.
Recently, Ms. Harris
has served as principal designer and project manager for the reconstruction
of the site and recreational facilities at the Carolina Country Club
in Raleigh, North Carolina, a three year project where she coordinated
the activities of five separate contractors not under contract with
the general contractor.
Other recent large
scale projects include
Alamance Regional
Hospital in Burlington, N.C. where she provided detail plaza, garden
and planting designs on a site where soils also presented special problems
to plant growth and survivability.

Ms. Harris has experience
on a wide variety of projects and project management skills on large
and small scale projects such as Meridian Business Park and the Raleigh-Durham
International Airport where difficult site conditions and soils required
special expertise and creativity.
